Método Volcafe

Aug 2017

An assignment for ED&F Man on sustainability practices and social and environmental standards in coffee production led me to an adventure in Costa Rica. There, I visited farms and factories and met people at all points of the supply chain. It's all part of what they call "Método Volcafe": a serious commitment to and investment in the survival of the world's best coffees and the people behind them.

Portlandia

June 2017

Constant rain during my shoot days for a travelogue on Portland, OR could have been disaster. Instead it became the muse and the means to express the way I saw the city and the colors that cut through the colorless. The result, I think, is a captivating portrait, perhaps more honest and inspiring than any other.

Paris by Night

Feb 2017

Clients in Paris challenged me to bring a fresh perspective to some traditional sites. In fact, I believe the mission was specifically stated as, "Montre-nous quelque chose que nous avons toujours vu comme jamais." So I waited for nightfall and showed them all the brilliance I could capture in the "City of Lights."

The best in MS

Jan 2017

It was an honor to meet and work with the brave doctors and patients at the International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice in New York City. The goal certainly wasn't to glamorize the disease or the practice. But, sometimes, the spirit of the person burst through and you couldn't help but smile.

#1 in a million

Dec 2016

My book, A Very Vintage Christmas, exceeded all expectations this year. By the time the holiday hit it had been named the top book to give by Entertainment Weekly, was the best selling and "Most Wished for" item in Amazon.com's Antiques & Collectibles category, and was featured in a bunch of publications like Victorian Homes. Myself, author, Bob Richter, and collaborator, Christopher Radko also enjoyed book signings at Bloomingdale's and the Moravian Bookshop.

The first edition is currently in it's fourth printing and will be followed up by a second edition next year.

Just in Time for Christmas

Oct 2016

This year the holidays are going to be a bit over the top. I have a very special book out now that took a lot of work and effort to make happen. The end result is a collection of hundreds of vintage Christmas items which I hope will be bringing people together to smile and reminisce for years and years to come.

No Vacancy

July 2016

The N. Moore Penthouse in Robert de Niro's Greenwich Hotel is a symphony of classic ideals, clean lines, and modern design. It offers more living space than 95 per cent of NYC urbanites could ever dream of, and the 30-foot skylights merit a gawp (as do the rates).
