Part of the Solution (POTS)

POTS’ clients are forced to make difficult choices every day – dinner on the table or new school supplies, hot water for a shower or a child’s haircut, heat in the cold of winter or medication. This year alone, POTS will help more than 25,000 people, including 8,000 children, with a multitude of needs common to individuals and families living in poverty.

I had what I consider the honor and privilege of being invited to the organization to meet POTS members, staff and volunteers while capturing images for their library, website, annual report and other marketing initiatives. It affects your life when you meet the man who lived on the subway for ten years, the girl who can only afford to eat once a day, or the woman who is struggling to free herself from an abusive relationship by trying to find a job and rent her own apartment. You know why your work is important and you know that what your doing, is doing good.

A humble acronym

The POTS' "one-stop shop" model provides a comprehensive package of support to battle poverty and come out on top.

Volunteers

Regularly, POTS is filled with the steady activity of volunteers. Many you'll see every week and many more you'll see arrive with their youth groups, service missions, or work colleagues.

Well stocked

The food pantry is built to offer guests the ability to "shop" for their meals instead of simply lining up to receive a handout.
